State Profile
Kentucky
is a wonderful land of mountains, forests, rivers, and, of course,
bluegrass.
Visitors
can enjoy Mammoth Cave National Park, the longest recorded cave system
in the world and home to one of the most diverse array of cave species
anywhere. Aboveground, hikers, fishermen and hunters can enjoy the
700,000 acres of valleys, ridges and cliffs in the Daniel Boone
National Forest. The Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area
features forests, streams, lakes, and the Elk & Bison Prairie,
a
native habitat restoration project.
Working together, we can conserve Kentucky's unique natural heritage for the pleasure and benefit of future generations.
