State Profile
Great
rivers, pristine lakes and shorelines, remote forests, high-quality prairies and
wildlife habitat, clean air and water, and the livability of its towns
and cities are all part of Minnesota's outstanding quality of life.
Minnesotans
can be proud of the natural treasures that the Northland offers -
Voyageurs National Park, the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway, the
Chippewa and Superior national forests, Agassiz National Wildlife Refuge, where wolves and moose roam, and the incomparable
Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, one of the original preserves
designated in the Wilderness Act of 1964. Outdoors traditions such as
ice fishing, deer hunting, and furbearer trapping have long been part
of Minnesota's heritage.
Working together, we can conserve Minnesota's treasured natural heritage for the pleasure and benefit of future generations.STATE
