Proud to Praise 'Em!

The 36 House Republicans listed below voted in January with a bipartisan majority to pass H.R. 6, which repeals a number of oil and gas production subsidies and establishes a fund to support renewable energy development.

H.R. 6 includes provisions to prod oil companies into renegotiating 1998 and 1999 offshore oil leases that did not include thresholds tying royalty relief to low prices. It also would repeal royalty relief for oil production from very deep waters and off Alaska, and for gas production in shallow waters. The bill would result in nearly $20 billion in cost savings and revenue increases between now and 2017, according to the Congressional Budget Office. The new money would be directed into a special fund for energy efficiency and renewable energy projects.

This is the kind of pro-conservation initiative that REP always has encouraged Congressional Republicans to support. There are a few names on the list below that we have never had occasion to praise before. They need to hear kudos and thanks from all us... to encourage this kind of good behavior in the future.
