Conservation Concerns in New York: Clean Air, Clean Water, Public Lands
New
York REP is focused on air and water quality, and the protection of
state and federal public lands in New York State.
The
members the New York Chapter are concerned about protecting all the
state's natural assets, but particularly the magnificent Finger
Lakes, the immense Adirondacks State Park, our historic Hudson River,
and other waterways and watersheds, including the Sterling Forest, which Governor Pataki helped to protect.
Many
of our chapter members are sportsmen—recreational boaters, fishermen,
and hunters. We all have our favorite pristine natural areas, and we
want to make sure they are protected for future generations of New
Yorkers. We also care deeply about the air and water quality of our
communities.
We
are speaking up proudly as New York Republicans who cherish the natural
landscape and encourage our elected officials to take significant steps to
conserve it.
