Report, Oil Spill Present Need for Leadership

Reports just out from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration documented that the global temperature average for April was the warmest ever recorded and so was the period from January though April.

Meanwhile, some ignorant politicians and candidates, especially Republicans, claim global warming is a hoax and the planet is cooling. It’s unreal and a challenge to educate them.

Now, even U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham has backed off his previously wise efforts to support legislation to develop a diversified energy plan which would help our economy, increase national security and reduce greenhouse gas emissions which contribute to global warming. I hope his retreat is temporary and he will return to enlightenment. The gulf oil leak disaster makes his leadership more important than ever.
