I support Bush, but not this time

Although I support George W. Bush on most issues, I do not support the recent movement in U.S. Forest Service policy to eliminate national protection of 58.5 million acres of roadless areas in national forests. Such a move amounts to a taxpayer-subsidized giveaway to logging companies and contradicts the basic conservative principles of free enterprise and conservation.

Roadless areas protect watershed systems and preserve recreational areas for future generations. I urge fellow Republicans to re-examine such short-sighted policies that harm the economy and families.
