Its funny how things evolve

It's funny how things evolve.

Sunday, Republicans for Environmental Protection (REP), an Albuquerque-based conservation organization, endorsed Sen. John McCain for the Republican primary election. The event was held at the New Hampshire Audubon Society because the facility is a true show-and-tell of energy-efficient architecture.

Sen. McCain was given a tour of the facility and was particularly interested in the wood pellet boiler. McCain knew about such technology, but he had never seen one in operation.

He asked a lot of questions and then called over columnist Joe Klein of TIME Magazine. “Come here Joe,” said the Senator, “maybe you’ll learn something,” he said with that wry humor that John McCain often displays. Klein stepped forward and within a few seconds, he too was engrossed in the discussion as to how the unit worked.

So Republicans for Environmental Protection not only endorsed their candidate, but they also acquainted two key opinion makers with some emerging green technology. A win for REP, a win for McCain, and a win for the environment.
