State Profile

From the mighty Mississippi River to the Great Smoky Mountains, Tennessee is an ecological wonder — the most biodiverse inland state in the United States.

There is lots to see and do in the Volunteer State, including Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the Cumberland Gap, Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area, Cherokee National Forest, Land Between the Lakes, and numerous national wildlife refuges.

Working together, we can conserve Tennessee's incomparable natural heritage for the pleasure and benefit of future generations.
